Welcome to The Room!
The Room is a small boutique studio that offers exclusive training in small groups. The Room opened in 2003 and since then, our clients have been giving us good feedback. Deep training for body and mind gives you a body in balance. We have knowledgeable instructors (both english and norwegian speaking) who are certified in Pilates, Yoga and bodywork (barre and TRX). We are proud to offer quality classes with a personal and friendly environment focusing on «the good feeling».
Pilates is a type of exercise that focuses on improving flexibility, strength, and body awareness through controlled movements. It is not about «pumping» the muscles so that they become as large as possible, but rather lengthening the muscles. Pilates has a main focus on core muscles and building the internal support muscles thoroughly so that we can carry our bodies in a healthy manner. We offer pilates mat classes as well as pilates reformer classes. Both mat and reformer classes are offered in three levels; 1, «åpen» and 2. All the classes ending in «1» is for beginners, «åpen» is intermediate level, while «2» is more advanced classes.
In our yin yoga classes, we wish to balance our thoughts and body to achieve awareness, relaxation and deep stretches. We use physical exercises and controlled breathing. The exercises are slow and easy to follow for those who have not tried yoga before. The positions are held for some time to give the body the opportunity to release tension and lengthen the muscles and connective tissue.
In our barre classes you will be met with music and choreography on the barre known from ballet. These classes are suitable for everyone as you have the barre to support your stability and balance as you focus on activating your muscles. Our barre classes are perfect for those who want a gentle, but effective and hard workout.
TRX is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. The TRX Suspension is a training tool that leverages gravity and the user’s body weight to complete the exercises. TRX is fun, challenging and effective training. Our TRX classes are suitable for everyone, they are designed to strengthen the whole body and has sequences with both strength and cardio.
How to book classes
You can book a trial class through our website by pressing «kjøp prøvetime» on our front page. You will then be redirected to our booking site. Trial class – prøvetime – is the top alternative. When you have bought your first trial class, you can log in to our schedule – timeplan – and choose your class. You have to login and book within 24 hours, all classes on our schedule can be booked up to 7 days in advance.
If you choose to become a member, we recommend you to download our app from ibooking for easy booking. You can find the app by scrolling to the bottom of our front page. Down to the left you press «hent appen» – fetch the app – and you will find link to app for both iPhone and Android.
